About Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic is a health
care system that focuses on the body's inherent recuperative powers.
It is a healing science that emphasizes the relationship
between the body's structure and function.
Chiropractic manipulative therapy is a method of conservative health care that does not utilize drugs or surgery.
As a healing profession, Chiropractors have been practicing for over 110 years. However, the practice of manual joint manipulation is much older with documented use extending back over 3000 years in ancient Chinese writings. Joint manipulation has also been documented by Hippocrates and by the Ancient Egyptians.

How do Chiropractors treat patients?
The doctor examines the patient, and then formulates a diagnosis and
treatment plan - just like most other health care providers. During
the examination, the doctor inspects the
joints, muscles, nerves, ligaments and tendons of the body with a focus
on the area of complaint.
After determining if a manipulation is clinically appropriate, the doctor may manipulate the affected body part with the goal of improving motion and decreasing discomfort. In addition to manipulation, the doctor may employ other treatment modalities such as ice, heat, electrical stimulation or soft tissue manipulation techniques.

I hear that once I start seeing a Chiropractor, I have to come for the rest of my life.
Many patients choose to continue with chiropractic care after their
chief complaint has been resolved because they see the benefit regular
care has on their body and lifestyle. While that vast
majority of patients would benefit from regular treatment, some come
every two months or once a year.
What are plans and does CHCAA use them?
Some Chiropractors have their patients sign up for long term contracts
that generally benefits patients with little or no insurance
coverage for chiropractic care. While they can be helpful for
some people, CHCAA will never try to sell you a
"plan." CHCAA does, however, accept
many forms
of insurance for chiropractic care.
